Description
This picture depicts a scene often shown at one of the 12 great feast of the Greek orthodox church. It is a picture of the baby Jesus being taken to the temple by his parents to be dedicated. they were stopped by Symon and he confirms that Jesus is in fact the holy child of god . The great emphasis in decor instead of expression is a large trend in byzantine art.

Modern Affair
Modern art in the middle east is very contempery and instead of focussing on religouse depictions it puts strain on lines space and colors in paintings.
